Winner of the Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service Glovebox Guide Competition 2016

Across Greater Manchester, the Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) provide a useful Glovebox Guide to every new young driver on the day they pass their driving test. The Guide ensures that young drivers are equipped with all the information they need to keep themselves and their passengers safe. It includes useful tips on looking after your car, motorway driving, the law, and having the confidence to challenge passengers.

To encourage young drivers to read the guide, GMFRS run a competition every year on their website where young drivers can enter by answering questions on the information provided in the guide.

Last week the winner was presented with an I Pad Mini!

Eleanor, a law student studying at Sheffield Hallam University was thrilled to receive the I Pad as an early Christmas present. She told Lesley Allen, GMFRS Other Emergencies Co-ordinator.

“Thank you so much for selecting me as competition winner. I passed my test back in April this year, and still have the Glovebox Guide in my mums car. The information was really useful and well laid out, and the accident checklist is particularly useful.”

The competition will run again during 2017, when GMFRS estimate the Glovebox Guide will reach a further 25,000 young drivers. GMFRS send thanks to the Greater Manchester Casualty Reduction Partnership for their continued support and funding for this project.
