Summer Drink Drive 2007-2008

    Summer Drink Drive

The majority of this campaign, which ran throughout the summer months in 2007 was run in conjunction with Key 103, as part of their ‘Feel Good, Drink Smart’ campaign. Key 103 worked with DRIVESAFE, NHS, Greater Manchester Police and the Fire Service in a joint initiative, aimed at keeping the county’s residents safe while they enjoyed the summer sunshine.

As well as playing regular drink driving ads on their station and Magic 1152, Key 103 produced branded merchandise, such as post cards, bottled water, T shirts, car stickers – all helping to remind the motorist not to drink and drive. The Key 103 street team worked their way around shopping areas in Greater Manchester, personally passing on the drink drive safety message.

In addition to this, DRIVESAFE worked closely with Greater Manchester Police in producing the DVD of Chris Lee’s story. Chris Lee is a local man, who is the first person to admit he wrecked his own life through drink driving. After crashing his car, Chris now has to spend the rest of his life with facial disfigurement and brain injuries. Chris now dedicates a large amount of his time to road safety awareness in an attempt to stop other people making the same mistakes he did.
