The Young Road Users Education and Publicity Project consist of a number of different targeted interventions aimed at reducing KSIs by increasing awareness of the potential impact of irresponsible driving and to influence the attitudes of young drivers and passengers.
The development of the Wrecked resource has been a major focus for the first year of this two-year 17-25 project. Wrecked consists of a DVD and a teaching resource for delivering sessions to young people. The DVD contains 20 video clips telling the story of young drivers who have been involved in road traffic collisions.
The stories, based on actual road traffic collisions, are designed to promote open discussion and debate. The booklet accompanying the DVD offers the presenter a guide for encouraging discussions around placing the blame, consequences and posing prevention measures.
A supporting website has also been developed www.wrecked.org.uk.
The second year of this project will focus on the delivery of Wrecked sessions to young people across Greater Manchester. This will include targeted work with young offenders at HMP & YOI Hindley, who are particularly at risk of being involved in KSI.
The ‘First Date’ DVD is free and provides you with a wealth of information, hints and tips about being a smarter, safer rider. Go to http://www.ridesafebacksafe.co.uk/ to request one now. The DVD takes a story of young love and romance and compares the pitfalls and mistakes often made on a first date with those made by young and inexperienced bikers on the road. Okay, this might sound a bit soppy, but if we talked down to young riders with a patronising tone they would switch off and miss out on some sound advice. The ‘First Date’ DVD explains the rules of dating and biking in a way that doesn’t patronise or shock the viewer.

Great Roads, Great Rides" takes riders step by step through everything they need to know; from basic maintenance checks at the start of the season to riding out with a group.
It looks at how to overtake and ride through bends safely so you don't get caught out and what to do if you're first on the scene of an accident involving another rider. (This DVD cannot be made available online for various reasons). The unique nature of both DVDs is that they have been written by bikers, for bikers and as such, are pro rider. It's like having your best mate alongside you every step of the way - and because they are DVDs, riders can go back and refer to them again and again.
Great Roads, Great Rides and Great Roads, Great Rides 2 is a resource from the Highways Agency.

"Too-go & No-go" are two characters created for the Road Safety Team at Manchester City Council to help bring the road safety message to the children of Manchester. Togo is the
older and wiser character who takes on board the role of teacher to Nogo. Nogo on the other hand is a cheeky but inquisitive younger character who is keen to learn.
Aimed at Key stage 1 children the program is designed to encourage learning through play by the use of brightly coloured and highly interactive games and video modules. The Step Outside module is a flash based interactive environment specifically designed to emulate the daily lives of children and reflect the dangers faced every day at the roadside.
