Young driver safety in the UK is an ongoing concern and Drivesafe along with Road Safety for North West is committed to promoting it!

In 2008, over 3,000 people were killed or seriously injured on the roads of the North West, and nationally around a quarter of drivers that die on Britain’s roads each year are under the age of 25.

To bring home the message to young people about the risks they face on our roads, Road Safety for North West have commissioned a TV advert to run on Granada TV.

We are hoping to encourage young people to think twice before they set out on a journey: to check they’ve got their seatbelt on; not to drive while impaired through drink or drugs; not to speed; and not to text or call their mates while behind the wheel.

The advert aims to show that any young person is susceptible to road death and injury. We want young people to take responsibility for their driving, it’s not just their own future they are playing with, they could be risking the lives of anyone else in that car, or other innocent road users.
